If you love the Super Bowl and you crave the ultimate high roller experience, a Super Bowl in Los Angeles is pretty damn enticing. LA is the ultimate destination spot for high end parties in a town filled with celebrities, and now they have a stadium venue that lives up to the glitzy LA lifestyle people want to experience when they visit this amazing city.

Yes, you’re going to break the bank to party there, but what’s the use of being a high roller if you’re not going to spend it at events like the Super Bowl. SoFi Stadium is a $5 billion project that has set new standards for luxury in sports stadiums:

Kroenke built 260 luxury suites and more than 13,000 premium seats — and that official count seems low when you’re wandering through its seemingly endless succession of posh, shiny areas.

In keeping with the Southern California theme, a three-story “Beach House” club area is connected by an Instagram-bait staircase. Several large, connected suites called “Bungalows” sit just beyond the end zones, enticing rich fans with the chance to be a few feet from a receiver catching a touchdown pass.

And then there’s the Executive Club, a 75,000-square-foot corridor circumnavigating the field underneath the stands. It has everything from marble-paneled elevator banks and gorgeous lounge areas to four separate bars focused on a single beverage: champagne, tequila, whiskey and wine.

If you consider that you’re not getting into this place for the Super Bowl for anything less than around $5,000 for a ticket, you can imagine how much you’ll be dropping for the VIP experience. If you want a VIP Suite at SoFi for the Super Bowl, you’ll be dropping a whopping $1.2 million for the experience!

Of course, having the Los Angeles Rans playing in this game, in their home stadium, raises the stakes even higher. The celebrity community always loves a party, but having the star-studded home team in the Super Bowl adds even more excitement to the weekend. You could hardly come up with a bigger contrast between the Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals. There were stories of how few Bengals fans were making the trip to LA for the game, but that shouldn’t be surprising given what we’ve covered here. Not many people can afford this crazy experience, and watching the game on a big screen TV with all your friends is still and damn good experience.

Still, Joe Burrow has some of the Hollywood flair that would fit this event. He comes from small-town Ohio but his Joe Cool image fits this Super Bowl like a glove. He’ll be lighting up a nice cigar if he wins the game. But the Rams are loaded with high-profile players, and the after parties will probably be even better than the pre-game parties if the Rams can pull this off.

The key of course is finding you’re way to the right party. What are you looking for? Celebrities? NFL legends like Joe Montana? We would lean towards all the LA hotties, model and actress wannabe’s and sugar babies that flock to La La Land. But that’s just us . . .

It’s hard to imagine any city topping LA for a VIP Super Bowl experience, until of course the Super Bowl arrives in Las Vegas!

Bu the end of the day we’ll know which NFL teams will be meeting up in the Super Bowl that will be played in Los Angeles in two weeks. The current betting lines have the Chiefs and Rams favored to meet for the NFL title, but we all know anything can happen in the NFL.

Cincinnati Bengals +7 at Kansas City Chiefs

This line hung around 7.5 all week, but late money must be coming in on the Bengals as the line is now an even 7. Joe Burrow is extremely confident and he has an offense loaded with weapons at the skill positions, so you can see why you can’t count this team out. He also has the moxie to take the necessary risks to win this game. But there’s a downside to this strategy. The Bengals have been on the edge of playing recklessly all season. Last week Burrow was sacked 9 times but were bailed out by a horrible game by the Titans offense. They won’t be so lucky against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. This team will score points, and put plenty of pressure on Burrow and the Bengals offense. We know that Burrow is unflappable, but he will certainly be tested this week in Kansas City. Burrow pointed out last week that SEC stadiums are typically louder than NFL stadiums, but he hasn’t played on the road in KC in the playoffs. Things are different there.

While I think anything can happen in this game, I’m going to lay the points here. The Honey Badger is back for KC, which should bolster the defense that was shredded by Josh Allen and the Bills. Mahomes will put up points, and this could turn into a blowout if Burrow makes some mistakes.

San Francisco 49ers +3½ Los Angeles Rams

Many would concede that the Rams are the better overall team, and it’s certainly a team loaded with elite talent, but the 49ers have had their number. It’s a matchup issue, as the 49ers are built to give the Rams headaches. The Rams don’t defend the run well. They’d much rather pin their ears back and kill you with their pass rush. But the 49ers love to run the football and they do it very well against the Rams. Also, everyone is talking about the mistakes we’ve been seeing from Jimmy Garoppolo, but Matt Stafford has had his share of mistakes as well. He’s played much better in the playoffs, but against the 49ers pass rush we easily could see more this week.

This is a tough game to pick, but it’s hard to pass on the 49ers and 3.5 points in this game. The Rams are at home but there could be more 49er fans in the stands so both teams will be dealing with the noise. The key to the game could be the 49er defensive line. If they get pressure today then the 49ers should be able to win this game outright.

Based on last week’s games, betting on NFL games can be quite stressful, so try to enjoy the experience!

Part of the fun of being a high roller is just the ability to let go and enjoy the ride. You can bring a big stack to the casino and life isn’t going to change at all if you blow it. The same goes for the ordinary gambler who wins a big parlay early in a casino trip and then lives like a high roller for a while with those winnings.

The key of course, as with most things in life, is knowing when to stop. This may be tricky, as we can all get a little wild when we’re in the zone. But there’s a difference between wild excess and sheer stupidity.

Which brings us to the latest example of high rollers taking things way too far. This story takes us to the historic city of London where one can find plenty of ways to enjoy your vices. A 62-year old gentlemen went on a 72-hour gambling bender which resulted in separating himself from £3.9 million of his net worth. That’s around 10% of his claimed net worth, so naturally this one stung a bit. Can you imagine losing that much money playing baccarat? It’s absurd.

Of course, lawyers have gotten involved, and the gambler is suing the casino, basically alleging that they let him play to long and shirked their responsibilities under the 2005 Gambling Act.

He may or may not have a case. That’s really not the point here. Stuff like this should never happen if you have even just a little self-control. Learn some basic self-discipline.

Again, being rich gives you the opportunity to act like a brainless high roller, but is there any limit for you?

For many of us, this wouldn’t be a problem. Few people would take things this far. But we all have our weak moments, and for some of us, this type of behavior is a real risk factor.

One of the best ways to prevent this type of fiasco is to have trusted friends around. Now that might be difficult for some high roller types who crave excess. At some point your real friends start to peel away when you act like this. The yes-men and enablers hang on and encourage the irresponsible behavior. If this sounds familiar, then you know you need to get back to having real friends around you. The types of friends who will make you stop playing.

Another trick is having a hot, horny girlfriend or sugar baby who wants to take care of you back in your room. That’s always more fun than the gambling part . . . pick your vices well!

And of course, then best way to handle this is to get some help. If you’re edging toward this type of behavior, find a counselor who will teach you ways to develop discipline and self-control.

As more and more states rush to get in on legalizing all forms of gambling, we continue to see success stories as state start to see the cash roll in. Detroit has had casinos for years, but Michigan expanded legalized gambling and added sports gambling to the mix, and the results have been very positive:

Internet casinos, poker and sports betting in Michigan generated $1.4 billion in revenue in 2021, the first year online gambling was operational in the state.

Internet casino gaming generated $1.1 billion in revenue while internet sports betting produced $292.2 million, according to numbers released Tuesday by the Michigan Gaming Control Board. Meanwhile, bettors wagered $3.7 billion at online sportsbooks last year.

Michigan became the third state in U.S. history to generate more than $1 billion in annual revenue from online casino games and poker, and the first to do so in its first year.

At some point states will start to cannibalize each other’s revenues, but with sports gambling most players are state residents. So each state is just adding to the overall pool of players. Let’s see how this trend plays out . . . Ohio will be joining the party in 2022!

Yes, there’s a chance we may casinos some day soon in New York City. It’s certainly not definite. At this point it’s just a proposal in Governor Kathy Hochul’s proposed state budget, but this could have huge repercussions across the East Coast. New York state recently launched app-based sports betting, so the trend in the state is certainly for gambling expansion. It will be fascinating to see what kind of reception this gets and how far this goes.

Atlantic City won’t implode of course, but the entire dynamic from a lifestyle and travel point of view will change in this region. New York is already a huge destination spot, but adding casino gambling really shakes things up. Imagine a night on the town that ends at a casino at 3 AM? The possibilities are endless. High rollers will flock to New York to get their gambling fix while also having the rest of this dynamic city and its nightlife at their disposal.

The NFL Wildcard Weekend saw most of the favorites advance, we have some pretty good matchups heading into the Divisional Round. The Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs are still the favorites to meet in the Super Bowl, but neither team has an easy matchup this weekend.

Cincinnati Bengals +3½ at Tennessee Titans

The Bengals are riding high behind the golden arm of Joe Burrow. Meanwhile, nobody is talking about the Titans who managed to grab the top seed in the AFC and now have a healthy Derek Henry back in the backfield. I like the Titans in this game, but Borrow would make me nervous. The kid is special and he won’t be intimidated by playing on the road. That said, the Titans have a big edge when it comes to experience and coaching, and they can tear apart the Cincy defense with their running game.

San Francisco 49ers +6 at Green Bay Packers

The 49ers are a terrible matchup for the Packers given their ability to run the ball. But this line has been moving due to the Jimmy Garoppolo injury situation. Garoppolo has a “slightly” sprained right (throwing) shoulder and has also been playing through a torn ligament in his right thumb. This could explain the obscene interception he threw in the fourth quarter of the Dallas game. It’s hard to pick this game until we know more about his injury situation.

Los Angeles Rams +3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Matthew Stafford got his first playoff win and Cam Akers miraculously looks to be in mid-season form. Also, OBJ seems to have found a home as the third receiver in the Rams open passing game. On the other side we have Tom Brady. This game is awfully tough to pick, so I’d stay away.

Buffalo Bills +2½ Kansas City Chiefs

Josh Allen had an amazing game last weekend as the Bills took out years of frustration in destroying the Patriots. Naturally, recency bias has geniuses like Colin Cowherd proclaiming that Allen and the Bills are practically unbeatable. Didn’t we used to say that about Patrick Mahomes? At least Mahomes was much more consistent when many were deifying him. Allen needs to prove he can maintain this level of performance. He doesn’t need to throw for five touchdowns again, but he needs to be smart and accurate, traits which often eludes him. He may be on the verge of a great playoff run, or he might run into reality on the road in KC. I’m banking on reality and I would lay the points.
